I also know there’s a good one out there called “When God Writes Your Love Story” by Eric and Lesely Ludy. I have yet to read it, but I’ve read a lot of books by Eric Ludy, and he’s got some good theology.

I’ve dated two different girls. They were the opposite when it came to “experience.”

The first was had dated a few guys before me. She was still a virgin, but had gotten very physical with her previous boyfriends. When we started dating we said that we’d only kiss, everything else would be off limis. That didn’t last.

We never did have sex, but we became more physical then I had thought I would before marriage. Throughout it all I was always comparing myself to the guys she had dated and been with before me, and it wasn’t healthy. It lead to problems in our relationship, that’s for sure.

The other girl I dated had never had a boyfriend, never been kissed. Let me tell you, there’s something romantic about a guy being the girl’s first kiss.

I think it’s harder for a guy (at least it was for me) to be with a girl who is “experienced” because we’re afraid that we won’t live up to her past experiences – that we won’t be as memorable as the guys that she’s been with before.

I think I speek for most (if not all) of the Christian guys out there in saying that I want to marry a virgin. If she has had sex in the past it’s not a deal breaker, God does offer grace, after all, but it’s one of those things that is on my list of important things.

I would much rather be with a girl who has no “experience”. That way we can build our experiences together.
