Good day Suzanne.I believe that your story will touch the heart of millions of people around the world.
In the way it touched my heart. I grew up in a family where my dad used to beat me up, physically and emotionally. In the beginning when I was the punching bag and he used to break me down emotionally as well, I felt so weak and useless.
But the day when he threw me out of the house (at that time I was 9 years of age) I sat outside on the street. I didn’t know what to do. I just closed my eyes and prayed. Two days later out of the bl
ue, my Grandfather appeared and picked me up from the pavement. He didn’t want to face my dad. He just took me in and to me he was a glimpse of God.
He took me in and taught me all the good things in life. He died three years ago, and I wish he was still here, there is so much I still have to learn and what I want to share with him. But He taught me about GOD, He helped me to become a strong young man. A young man strong enough to face the dad that threw him out many years ago.
I tracked my dad and faced him, I told him how I felt and then gave him a hug and I told him I still love him. He was so shocked but he still stays the same. I know deep in my heart that my dad won’t change, but what my Grandfather taught me that I hold most dear to my heart is forgiveness and peace. (more…)
