Heartache
by Judi Weiss, Guest Writer
Something fragile, something broken
Hurt
Kind words which were never spoken
Sadness
A deep ache for something lost
Loneliness
It never comes without a cost
Love
Something to make you feel secure
Trust
Something that is pure
Kindness
Something that will brighten someoneʼs day
Happiness
Everyone needs it along the way
He heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds. Psalm 147:3 (The Message)

Staying F.I.T.
by Lydia Rule, RTF Staff Writer
Summer’s arrival means that we’re all sweating and wishing for a big blue pool to magically appear in the backyard. At least, I am….
Also on top of the summer wish list is to get back into shape. But staying fit doesn’t just include your physical well being—it includes spiritually keeping yourself on track by maintaining a healthy emotional balance.
A few years back, I was obsessed with losing weight and getting back (physically) into shape. However, I lost sight of one very important goal: staying spiritually in shape. Instead, I was focusing all my energy on the physical appearance, lost in the craze of a weight-losing obsession. (more…)

That’s the theme of RTF this month. Do Hard Things.

What does that look like? What does that mean?
Doing hard things means we don’t talk bad about others–even when they deserve it.
Last night I was hanging out with some friends. One started talking about a guy who had messed up. He had said something stupid. He hurt a friend. It made my friend angry, and she vented. (more…)

Prince Caspian
Rated PG for epic battle action and violence
Review by Jamin Goecker, RTF Staff Writer
How do you exceed the perfection of Andrew Adamson’s last Narnian movie? Better effects, faster action, excellent costumes, new characters, and dazzling scenery. This 2-hour and 20-minute film kept me awake at 2 o’clock in the morning.
Caspian enters a wardrobe within the first 5 minutes. He’s not stepping into a new world; he’s escaping his uncle’s plot to murder him. The Pevensie children (Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy) have lived in our world a year since their last adventure into a wardrobe. A magical horn warps them back to Narnia to help Prince Caspian in his struggle against his uncle Miraz. If the Narnians are defeated, they will be annihilated. (more…)

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. John 1:6-8 NIV
Do you ever feel like you don’t have much to offer? I don’t know if JTB (John the Baptist) felt this way, but just the other night I met someone who does. Her statement reminded me of this scripture. (more…)

I woke again to the sound of thunder so loud that it shook the windows. Hail pelted the house. My cat was on the deck, plastered to the window screen, crying to be let in.
Rain again.
The weather guy on TV looks tired. He points to the screen behind him. “Rain,” is all he seems to mouth. Blah. Blahdee. Blah. Blah. (more…)

Going to school here is a struggle in my walk of faith because there are so much none believers here.. i know im here 4 a reason -not only education but to talk about christ and how he can save them to! It getz harder everyday so im asking if you can please pray for me and this school which has so much negativity. Thank you for your time.. May God continue to bless you.. Take care.. Guadalupe S., 17
We get tons of e-mails and behind-the-scenes comments from teens here at RTF. I want to start sharing some of them with you, some of the 100 to 200 teens who visit this site every day. I’m not going to edit them or try to make them perfect (though I’ll not use any personal details like last name or where you live). I just want the heart of what teens are saying to be out there.
Will you pray with me for Guadalupe and his school right now? Put it all down for one minute and let’s join together and pray that God will help him in his faith walk, and that Christ will rock this school with God’s love and presence and revival.
