When I moved to Europe four years ago with my family as missionaries, I expected a lot of things. Adventure and romance, cobblestone streets and castles and tiramisu. I didn’t expect to meet Raluca.
I’d moved nearly every year of my life, but this was the hardest. This was a new country, new culture, new language. My new home sat on a dirt street, and we had an outhouse, poor electricity, little running water, and a rat sharing our downstairs.
