Real Link: New Attitude

New Attitude is a blog written by a guy named Eric Simmons. You can connect with NA at their conferences, the blog, on Facebook, and

What is New Attitude? New Attitude began when a dude named Joshua Harris felt a call to equip his generation with biblical truth they could take back to their local churches. He became a pastor, so Eric took over.

Na exists now to help Christians believe, live, and represent the truth with humility.

I love what they are doing through their conferences. This year at Na they gave all the shirt profits to build wells in Uganda and then sold $10 bookmarks and gave the profits to send Bible to Uganda. They raised $3,000 to build wells in Uganda and, get this, $19,000 to send Bibles to Uganda.

If you are looking for a fluffy site, this isn’t it. If you want to talk about the Bible, how to impact others in a real world, then this just might be the best link you’ve checked out all month.

Real Advice: I’m jealous

I need a bible scripture or advice about jealousy and real beauty because I get jealous easily, especially about apearance. Like, I believe that other girls are more beautiful than me. That’s why I look for scriptures about what real beauty is in the eyes of Jesus Christ. I am having a hard time finding one.

Than you very much. =] Alyssa (more…)

Real Bible Study: 7 Steps

7 Steps to Wise Decisions

By: Debra Weiss, RTF Staff Writer

For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.  Proverbs 8:11, NKJV

Many of us, as teenagers, are at a point where every decision—no matter how small—has the potential to shape our futures for good or bad.

But God has not left us to make our own decisions. He offers guidance to those who are willing to seek His counsel.

I have found that there are seven steps to wise decisions. (more…)

Real Devo: Staying F.I.T.

Staying F.I.T.

by Lydia Rule, RTF Staff Writer

Summer’s arrival means that we’re all sweating and wishing for a big blue pool to magically appear in the backyard. At least, I am….

Also on top of the summer wish list is to get back into shape. But staying fit doesn’t just include your physical well being—it includes spiritually keeping yourself on track by maintaining a healthy emotional balance.

A few years back, I was obsessed with losing weight and getting back (physically) into shape. However, I lost sight of one very important goal: staying spiritually in shape. Instead, I was focusing all my energy on the physical appearance, lost in the craze of a weight-losing obsession. (more…)

Real Devo: Picture Perfect, II

Ask God to join you in your relationship!

Picture Perfect?
by Lydia Rule, RTF Staff writer

Situation Three: Lauren and Ryan are both saved and have been dating each other for a year. They seem like the perfect couple. They have both promised their parents that they will save sex for marriage. However, the temptation is there—especially when Ryan takes her out for a drive in his car or when Lauren spends the afternoon at Ryan’s house.

They snuggle, kiss, and hold hands, after all, what couple doesn’t? As time goes by, they have done everything BUT the big no-no, and technically, they’re still virgins. Yet, they feel guilty for pushing their relationship to the limits.

Real Advice: Teaching

Making It Real: Whose Faith Is It Anyway?I’ve been looking at your website, and I really like the article, “Living on Borrowed Convictions”. I teach middle school students at a Christian Montessori school. My students don’t have much faith to speak of. I want to be able to “teach religion” in such a way to encourage them to ask “big questions”: Who am I? Who is God?, etc. without teaching dogmatically.

Do you have any suggestions? We are interdenominational. I think we need to start with Relationship with God before the Rules. We also have to be able to encourage searching for answers without compromising the Truth. Any thoughts you have would be welcome! (It’s okay to share this question on the web.) Thank you! (more…)

Real Word: Revelation

Aha!

So, that’s what that means.

Deeper understanding. Knowledge. Insight. That’s what the word revelation means. Today I was reading the book of Revelations [chapters 1 through 4].

As I studied these chapters, I asked the 5 W’s: (more…)

Happy Valentines Day

Let love for your fellow believers continue and be a fixed practice with you. Hebrews 13: 1

But if one loves God truly, he is known by God. 1 Corinthians 8: 3

For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights. Proverbs 3: 12
