“I Felt Forgiven”
An Igniteyourfaith.com exclusive interview with Lacey Mosley of Flyleaf
by Todd Hertz
In an igniteyourfaith.com interview, IYF editor Todd Hertz talked to Lacey about her past and her faith.
What were your teen years like?
I was dealing with a lot with low self-esteem and depression, and I kind of hated myself a lot. I think that spilled over into relationships with other people. I hated everybody. So my home life was a bad situation. To get away from it, I started doing drugs when I was 13.

At the beginning of the school year, 6th grader Aidan DeMuth decided to run for class treasurer. In his speech, he wrote that if he were to become treasurer, he’d help raise funds for wells in Africa. The day of the election, he came home, head down. “I didn’t win.”
“It’ll be okay,” his mom said. “I know it’s hard to lose an election.”
“You don’t understand,” he told her. “God has burned in me a desire to dig wells in Africa, and I can’t get it out of my heart.” Aidan equated winning the election with being able to provide clean drinking water. (more…)

How could God love a messed-up guy like me?
by Josh Phillips as told to Ann Swindell
If Anybody Knew the Real Me (Excerpt)
Feeling groggy from a late night date, I shifted uncomfortably in my chair and then glanced over at the girl next to me. She was the reason I was here in a church service; she and a couple of other girls had invited me. I said yes—even though I knew I’d be out all night with another girl—because I figured I’d eventually end up making out with at least one of the three. (more…)

Title: Garden Valley Ministry Stages Protest in Times Square
Excerpt: The group, organized by the East Texas-based Christian group Teen Mania Ministries, was in the Big Apple for an event called “Recreate,” during which participants announced a desire to “recreate” music, film, fashion, television and other media to remove explicit language and imagery.
The teens waved signs with slogans like, “Life doesn’t have any makeup tests” and, “If God seems far away, who moved?” There were singers, dancers, artists and speakers who announced eight questions to be sent to the presidential candidates, including, “What should be done to stop glamorizing the things that are destroying my friends, like drugs, alcohol and sex?” And, “How will you ensure that my freedom to practice Christianity will not be taken away?” [read the rest of this article]

Cupid Sets the Record Straight
By Cupidss as told to Todd Hertz
Excerpt of article:
Greetings! Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Cupid, that little flying baby you see all over the place every February. Yes, that guy. I know, you get sick of seeing me. If you’re not dating anyone, seeing my face makes you cringe. If you are, my image pressures you to buy that perfect lovey-dovey card/ flower bouquet/box of candy. But really, that’s just my marketing team. That’s not how I want to be known.
