~RTF Mission~

RTF is a ministry of daretobelieve.

We dare to believe that Christianity is relevant and that God isn’t afraid of the tough stuff. Faith in God can reach and change any person anywhere, at any time –no matter what.

B.J. Hamrick - B.J. Hamrick was born in Savannah, Georgia, in an event which her brother keeps reminding her was completely unnecessary. She spent most of her life in eastern North Carolina, writing manuscripts from the North end of her bed due to an illness. Her fascination with writing began at the age of eight, when she harassed and manipulated 28 pen-pals into writing her on a weekly basis.  Over the past few years, B.J. has harassed and manipulated publishers into publishing her work more than 60 times. Now B.J. harasses and manipulates the general public on Xanga.

Lydia Rule - Bio: Lydia Rule is an award winning writer whose articles have been featured in over fifty magazines and online publications. Currently, she is working on her fifth novel. When she is not busy typing on her keyboard and concocting a plot to make her book characters miserable, Lydia enjoys antique shopping, collecting geodes, ping-pong, and tennis. Check out her blog.

~Writers’ Guidelines~

Real Teen Faith features guest writers, as well as RTF staff writers. We are currently looking for a few great people to join the team. Since RTF is a not for profit ministry, it does not pay, but writers are mentored through the process. Some of our writers have gone on to publication, acquired an agent, and are beginning their writing career.

Are you interested in sharing your writing? Send it to RTF at tseller@daretobelieve.org.

If you want to write for RTF:

  • all writing should be non-preachy, but scriptured based
  • remember your audience - we have a mixed audience of seeking teens, believing teens, and those who are asking tough questions about God.
  • be relevant to everyday life
  • 500 words or less for devos, stories, etc.
  • poetry less than 28 lines
  • reviews can be on any movie, book, or musical artist or band — we especially love to review or feature unlisted bands
  • if your piece is accepted, you’ll need to send a small .jpg photo and a brief bio (two lines)
  • Let us know if it’s okay if other major sites RSS feed your devo (with your byline and bio)
