Every November since I can remember, I’ve packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. I always picked a girl and boy my age and filled my shoeboxes to the brim with crayons, notepads, toothbrushes, soap, and—most important, in my opinion—stuffed animals. By the time I packed the box, I practically had to sit on the lid to get it to snap into place.
November 15th to 21st is National Collection Week, so now is the perfect time to put a few inexpensive items together (I shop at the dollar store) and drop off a box at a location near you.
It’s pretty amazing to think about a little box touching a child’s life in a big way. And I love getting the newsletters throughout the year that show where the boxes were sent. I’m almost positive that I saw a little boy on the other side of the world holding a box I packed just for him!
Head over to OperationChristmasChild to find out how to pack your box and where to drop it off.

Thanks, Natalie! It is a great thing; I really love doing it! Hopefully you can navigate the website okay. Just make sure to check the list for what you can and can’t put in the boxes. I’m going to pack my boxes tomorrow! I’m so excited!

Sadly we can’t this year. I talked to my mom and we have to be careful with money until my dad gets back from a business trip. My mom looked into helping out at a homeless shelter or something so we might check that out over Christmas break! I’ve always just wanted to help some how! I hope you have a great time packing the boxes!!!
