By RTF Staff Writer Shannon Meiers
When Jesus says, “Trust Me,”
What will my response be?
Will I give up willingly
All that I wanted to be?
When my body twists with pain,
Was all my faith in vain?
And then I hear Him sayin’ “Trust Me”
“Trust Me, and then, you will see”
“Child, I have a plan for you to serve me.
Everything you go through
Will eventually make you free
Just remember, I went through it too
All the mocking neighbors
All the legalistic Pharisees
The family who thought Me a failure
The whips that brought me to my knees
All this almost broke me
And I wanted it to end
When I was hanging on the tree
I died to be your friend
So, child, trust me now
Trust me through your pain
I will help you not to bow
Under life’s horrific strain
You may well wonder why
You cant seem to feel my love
But child, I’ll tell ya you will fly
When I call you home above
Where there will be no more pain
There will be no more hurt
There will be no more life-stain
There will be no more life-dirt
But until then, my child,
Here is what you must do,
When this earthly life gets too wild,
Remember, I am holdin’ you.
