real poem: you’re beautiful

girl enjoying wind

by RTF Staff Writer Judi Weiss

You’re the only one who doesn’t know about
The beauty that everyone else knows is there
You just can’t see it
No, you’re not aware

You don’t think you’re pretty
And you pick yourself apart
But what you say isn’t true
Because I’ve seen your heart

Hold on, girl
Don’t let go
You’re more beautiful
Than you’ll ever know
I know it’s hard
When you stumble and fall
But girl, believe me when I say
You’re beautiful

You shine outwardly
Just like you do on the inside
Your natural beauty
Is nothing to hide

You push yourself down
Farther down each time
But I’ll stand on the edge and pull you back up
Because you’re a friend of mine

Hold on, girl
Don’t let go
You’re more beautiful
Than you’ll ever know
I know it’s hard
When you stumble and fall
But girl, believe me when I say
You’re beautiful

I can see it in you
So bright everyday
I’ll tell you a thousand times
Until you believe what I say

Hold on, girl
Don’t let go
You’re more beautiful
Than you’ll ever know
I know it’s hard
When you stumble and fall
But girl, believe me when I say
You’re beautiful
