This Friday I want to give advice to all our readers. I am going to introduce you to some resources so that you don’t have to feel helpless when you or someone you know is struggling. The following includes some common problems, along with some organizations where you can find help any time:
Self-injury (cutting)
Door of Hope: This organization offers free counseling (online or by phone) by certified Christian counselors for teen girls or young women.
ASHIC (American Self-Harm Information Clearinghouse): Here you can find a variety of resources and information about self-inury.
Suicide
Suicide Hotline: One of the best things you can do if a friend is struggling with thoughts of suicide is go to this website, look up the hotline number for your state, and call. (Other options include telling a parent, pastor, teacher, or guidance counselor.)
Pornography/sexual addiction
Shoulder to Shoulder: This site offers information and several options of counseling for guys who are struggling with sexual addictions.
Porn-Free: This place has a wealth of resources and information about sexual addictions.
Pregnancy
Stand Up Girl: This site provides support for anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy. It includes a forum, articles, and a crisis support section.
Unplanned Pregnancy: This organization offers resources and live help for pregnant women.
These are just a few organizations that are available to you. (You can also find all of these resources on our links page.)
And you can find help here at RTF. Just email us at realteenfaith(at)gmail.com. We’d love to help you.
