One of our favorite sites is Planet Wisdom. It’s chock full of great articles, conference news, music, and movie reviews. This is a current review of:
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, reviewed by Steven Harrell
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
Rated PG-13 for mature material and sensuality.

Excerpt of Review: Most of the anticipated summer releases this year have been aimed at the male
species. The huge success of “The Dark Knight” is sure to further fuel the latex-and-complicated-backstory frenzy. But “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2″ is a movie built just for you, ladies, and without nearly as much sex or city (but even more product placement) as the summer’s other movie about four female friends.
The Story
“Sisterhood 2″ picks up three years after the first movie left off. (more…)

One day he was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said, “Master, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.” Luke 11:1
Real Quote
It is not part of the life of a natural man to pray. We hear it said that a man will suffer in his life if he does not pray; I question it. What will suffer is the life of the Son of God in him, which is nourished not by food, but by prayer. When a man is born from above, the life of the Son of God is born in him, and he can either starve that life or nourish it. Prayer is the way the life of God is nourished. Our ordinary views of prayer are not found in the New Testament. We look upon prayer as a means of getting things for our selves; the Bible idea of prayer is that we may get to know God Himself. Do Something Big
Leeland wants to inspire and encourage their generation to, as their latest CD puts it, live the “opposite way” from the world around them.
by Todd Hertz, Campus Life, June/July 2008

Do Something Big: The band Leeland wants to inspire and encourage their generation to find a real relationship with Christ—and live it out. Or as the band’s newest CD puts it, to live the “opposite way” as the world around them.
“There’s so much pressure put on teens to conform,” says drummer Mike Smith. “But yet, we see so much passion in teens to do something more than that.”
And so, the band longs to show how youthful energy can be used for God’s purposes.
“In every show we do, we want to encourage our generation to do something big,” says lead singer Leeland Mooring. “Whether that means stopping AIDS in Africa, abolishing modern-day slavery, or starting a prayer-time at school, we want to see kids getting close to God and then through that, doing amazing things for him.”

Most of the time I’m behind the scenes of Real Teen Faith blog. Writing. Traveling. Researching. Working with cool teen writers. But today I wanted to sit and talk with you about how very cool God is.
I spoke this weekend at a youth event. It was fun and the teens were ready to worship, eat, swim, and hang out, and stay up until 4 a.m.
The first night I spoke and it was cool (not me, just the event).
But the second night, when the crowd was tired and thinking about home, something special happened. (more…)

Hadassah was a young woman. How old? Most likely between the ages of 13 and 20. She hadn’t had an easy life. War had taken her parents. She lived with a loving uncle. And then she found out she was going to be in a beauty pageant.
The prize? Daily facials and manicures and beauty treatments. No snaggly toes for this girl. She had access to the most beautiful clothes. She could be a fashionista, if she chose.
But if she won the pageant, she became Queen. (more…)
What can one teen do? They can publish books! Lydia Rule, RTF Staff writer has signed a contract for her new book, Devo’s on the Go. Her desire is to change the world through her writing.
She’s looking for a few more devos to add to the book. Here’s what Lydia had to say about this project.
Hey Everyone…
I have a book coming out called Devo’s-on-the-Go! My publisher, Power Publishing, is looking for some writers to add short vignettes/couple of paragraphs into my devotional book. The book is based on a fast-food theme… speedy devotions delivered each day! The book’s target audience are teens and college-aged students who have a hard time fitting a daily devo time into their busy schedule. (more…)
A site for girls with devos and links to topics of deeper faith, fun and fashion ideas, and more. The mission of RadRevolution is to ”encourage today’s young woman as she realizes, responds to, and rejoices in God’s radical purpose for her life”.

New Attitude is a blog written by a guy named Eric Simmons. You can connect with NA at their conferences, the blog, on Facebook, and
What is New Attitude? New Attitude began when a dude named Joshua Harris felt a call to equip his generation with biblical truth they could take back to their local churches. He became a pastor, so Eric took over.
Na exists now to help Christians believe, live, and represent the truth with humility.
I love what they are doing through their conferences. This year at Na they gave all the shirt profits to build wells in Uganda and then sold $10 bookmarks and gave the profits to send Bible to Uganda. They raised $3,000 to build wells in Uganda and, get this, $19,000 to send Bibles to Uganda.
If you are looking for a fluffy site, this isn’t it. If you want to talk about the Bible, how to impact others in a real world, then this just might be the best link you’ve checked out all month.
