My Angel
by T. Suzanne Eller
a whispered word
a tender touch
like angel’s wings
lingering, her fingertips still brushing the corners of my heart
I see her in the morning
when I pray
I thank God
for every moment, every hour
this angel walked with me
she walked in faith
and now do I
though I cannot hold
my angel with earthly hands
yet one day, and not too long
I will walk with her
and the days will not end
complete in the love
of a Savior
a child
a father
all who hold me dear
while I journey
not alone, not without purpose
running a race
to the finish line
where a great crowd of witnesses
await,
along with my angel
her smile breaking open the skies
waiting
just for me
Hebrews 11:39: They were all commended for their faith. . .God had planned something better.
