Making It Real: Whose Faith Is It Anyway?

Making It Real: Whose Faith Is It Anyway?

Do you want to take your faith deeper? Do you seek more than churchianity? Do you want to know God in a relevant, personal way?

This week I sat with a group of teens who are all going through my book, Making It Real: Whose Faith Is It Anyway?

They invited me to their classroom to share my perspective, and for me to hear what God was doing through the study. They rocked my world. They really did. Megan said that it reminded her that she didn’t really know why she believed, and it launched her into a study of Scripture and a personal journey to know Jesus and her faith. Others shared with me after class what God was doing through the study. I loved watching several after church carrying the book tucked beside their Bible.

These teens shared exactly what I prayed for as I wrote this book. After working with and teaching discipleship to teens for nearly two decades, I wanted to create an interactive resource that could be used in small groups, but more importantly in one-on-ones in a teen’s private time with God. I wanted teens to see God as bigger than tradition, and to learn to trust and know and pursue God with all their hearts and lives. I wanted their faith to become REAL!

Thanks, M1A, for inviting me to join your class this past weekend. I loved it!

If you are a youthworker or teen or parent who is interested in buying a copy(ies), you can purchase them at amazon.com, christianbook.com, bn.com, or any other online distributor, or ask your local bookstore to order it in, or contact RTF to buy books (let me know how to autograph it!). Discounts for large orders (shipped and billed media mail).

If your class or youth group is going through Making It Real, and you’d like me to join your class by phone or in person, let’s talk!

Man, I wish I’d had that book when I was 13! I was coming out of a very legalistic church and I had no clue what to believe. I used some pretty harsh words back then like: “hell will freeze over before I ever set foot in a church again!” and “I’m not gonna have anything to do with God!”.

Both of which, I can proudly say, hold no truth. LOL. I don’t recognize the girl I was just four–almost five–years ago. Somewhere along the way, God got a hold of my heart and it’s been the best journey of my life! :)

Isn’t it crazy the journeys we can take in just a few years’ time??

He never fails to amaze me,
    Debbie

Hey Debbie, See if your local library or bookstore will order it in! Thanks for sharing such a personal story. I’m sure others have struggled with the same thing.
