Pick her up, God

She thinks she’s cool doing drugs and partying every night
My only prayer is that she will one day see the light
she hides under her make up and black hair
Somedays I wonder if she even really cares
She seems so happy with such and awful life,
But sometimes I wonder if she thinks of death by knife
She says she used to cut herself, but she stopped this year.
Her stories pain me and nearly bring me to tears.
I want to say, “Why Lord have you given me so many blessings?
When this girl has nothing.
I invite her to church, but she doesn’t want to come.
She says last time she went the congregation all made fun,
Of how she looked and dressed,
Staring at her pain and stress.
How can she be so kind?
When her parents are really out of their minds.
Her father used to beat her until he decided to pick up and leave.
I pray that something will help her to believe.
Lord, pick her up and carry her away from all this pain.
She has nothing left to lose , but everything to gain.
With you Lord she can be great,
And leave behind all this hate.
She doesn’t have a clue
how much she can do.
With you Lord nothing is holding her back,
she can break free from wearing all her black,
And start living the life she wants.
Because with you nothing is impossible.

Hey Butterfaith my name is Brooke and I wrote this poem. Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate it. My only advice is to do God’s will and write with passion..write what you feel God is telling you to write and you cannot write anything bad. I promise you. You just have to let yourself realease everything onto paper and it will all work itself out. Good Luck!
