Lately there is this voice telling me God’s not real. I go to church. IS this voice real?Yes, it’s real. That voice can be other people. It can be a spiritual battle. Or perhaps the voice is your own as you ask questions about your faith.
This is the good news. Doubt or fears or questions doesn’t change who God is, and hopefully it will lead you to a deeper place in your faith as you talk to God about it.
God is big enough for those doubts, and it doesn’t make you less of a believer to ask them, but I would challenge you to put all the voices aside and get alone with God and talk to Him. Let him know where you’re at spiritually and where you are in your walk with him, and read Scripture and great books and open your heart up to learn more about your faith–not so much what you’ve learned from others or sermons, but what it means to know God one-on one.
There was a time in my life that I asked if God was real. Nearly 30 years later I’ve learned that He is not only real, but powerful and intimate and life-changing. There have been many times that I’ve stopped everything to get alone with God just to talk to Him about life, or about the doubts, especially when life is hard or confusing. Each time I’ve realized that God is okay with those doubts, and welcomes the conversation so that I can learn and grow and He can guide me one step at a time.
