Lord, let me make a difference for you that is totally disproportionate to who I am. John Piper

I Hated Everyone
How God’s love changed Flyleaf’s Lacey Mosely.
By Todd Hertz
I had nothing:
Flyleaf lead singer Lacey Mosely started doing drugs at 13. It was her escape from life. “Home was a war zone and I dealt a lot with low self-esteem and depression,” Lacey says. “All that carried over into my relationships. I hated everyone.” (more…)
I hear my friends say that God is their “best friend”. But if I treated my best friend like they treat their God, I wouldn’t have them as a friend for long. They talk about faith and church and stuff, but they aren’t much different than me. When they ask me to come to church, and I’ve seen them doing some of the stuff that they do, I don’t get it. ~Ben (more…)
“Make Me Thy Fuel” by Army Carmichael
From prayer that asks that I may be
Sheltered from winds that beat on Thee,
From fearing when I should aspire,
From faltering when I should climb higher,
From silken self, O Captain, free
Thy soldier who would follow Thee.
From subtle love of softening things,
From easy choices, weakenings
Not thus are spirits fortified,
Not this way went the Crucified,
From all that dims Thy Calvary,
O Lamb of God, deliver me.
Give me the love that leads the way,
The faith that nothing can dismay,
The hope no disappointments tire,
The passion that will burn like fire,
Let me not sink to be a clod:
Make me Thy Fuel, Flame of God.
Have you ever been frustrated? I have. In fact, this past three weeks have been both amazing AND frustrating. I moved to a new home. I love it! I love our new community. I love the new friends I’m making.
But I don’t love being disconnected.
I thought the only place you couldn’t get phone service or Internet was in the remote jungles of Brazil. But you guessed it! I can’t get it in my new home–at least, not yet.
It’s caused me problems with my writing. 100% of what I do is online–sending manuscripts; talking to editors; blogging; research. . .
I’ve had to find a few little hot spots in my city and soak up cyberspace rays to check e-mail, but I’m ready to be connected again.
This may seem like a small thing, and it is comapred to the big stuff like sickness, poverty, parents divorcing, or any other life-changing interruption. So I’m asking God for patience, and we at RTF are also hoping you’ll hang with us until we are fully back online again.

Bright orange Halloween pumpkins. Gaping sores. Cackling, costumed corpses holding bags full of sweet treasures. It was a familiar scene… especially to me. I lived in a world of death, tombstones, and flesh mangled victims. (more…)
