I met this really nice guy at a youth camp and he asked me out. I told him no at first because I’m now allowed to date, but then I really thought about it!
So the next day I told him that I would secretly date him and he’s fine with it! We really like each other and he’s so sweet and perfect for me!
I’m not allowed to date for 3 more years and Im 14. I love him and I know that he loves me and I don’t want my parents to find out that I’m dating him.
But I want to ask them if I can again so if they say yes I can! How can I ask them about dating. If they say no it is going to be even harder to keep my relationship secret! How can I ask them and have a relationship at the same time? I know that whatever they say Im not going to break up with him cause I love him! Got any answers to my questions? Sincerely, Tyrha (more…)

I wanted to ask your advice. I haven’t cut in two years, and yet my arms are still so so scarred. The entire surface is uneven. I’ve not worn short sleeves since I started cutting. I am SO ashamed. I need help knowing how to be able to look at my own arms, and how to wear short sleeves again. I need help. I don’t know what to do. God bless you. — Tamara

Every once in a while a writer gets to hear what others are saying about their books, and it’s exciting. Yesterday someone sent me this review for my book, Making It Real: Whose Faith Is It Anyway? that was featured on TitleTrakk. (more…)

John 17:20 (NIV): My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Jesus prayed this really tender prayer before he faced the cross. He knew that difficult times were ahead. He prayed that his disciples and followers would stay together, work together, and be strong–together.
Why? Not just for their sake, but for the sake of people who would hear their message. (more…)

Today we get to hang out with author, Sarah Sumpolec. She’s not only written the Becoming Beka series, five books about a teen who is trying to live her faith and find her dreams, but is also the author of a very cool blog by a character in her novel. Lucy.
This blog is called Totally Unfamous.
Let’s talk with Sarah!
Suzie: Hey Sarah, thanks for dropping by Real Teen Faith. I’ve read a lot of blogs, but never one that was also a novel. What made you decide to try this?
Sarah: I was interested in writing a spin-off from my “Becoming Beka” series and decided that I wanted to share Lucy’s story.
Because the story format is experimental, I knew that I wouldn’t be able to find a publisher for it and I wasn’t interested in self-publishing.
That left the Internet, and since the story is written in short poems I thought a blog platform was the best way to share it. That way it would be free for anyone to read. And hopefully enjoy. (more…)

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Unpublished authors have less than two months to submit entries to the Christian Writers Guild’s 2007 “Operation First Novel” and “Operation First Book” (nonfiction) contests. The entry deadline is September 19 for Operation First Book; the deadline is October 3 for Operation First Novel.
The fiction contest, co-sponsored by Tyndale House Publishers, offers unpublished authors the opportunity to have a first novel published by Tyndale, plus receive a $20,000 advance. Entries must be original works of fiction between 75,000 and 100,000 words.
New for 2007 is Operation First Book (nonfiction), co-sponsored by Harvest House Publishers. Rather than a complete manuscript, this contest calls for a detailed nonfiction book proposal. The winner will receive $10,000, and Harvest House will consider the book for publication. (more…)
