Real Word: Life Changing Mondays

rtf_header3.jpg

John 17:20 (NIV): My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

Jesus prayed this really tender prayer before he faced the cross. He knew that difficult times were ahead. He prayed that his disciples and followers would stay together, work together, and be strong–together.

Why? Not just for their sake, but for the sake of people who would hear their message. It’s interesting that our church today is often divided by denominations or beliefs. That can be confusing for someone on the outside looking in.

Are you up to studying with a lot of other teens? We are, and we hope you join us! For the next few months, RTF invites you and anyone you want to invite–someone who knows God, someone who has questions, someone who’s just not sure about this Jesus stuff–to study scripture together.

Why? Well, because the Word of God is life changing. It really is.

What will you need? A Bible. A journal of any kind. A few minutes.

See you next Monday when we’ll begin RTF’s weekly Bible study. If you are interested in joining, leave a comment or send your e-mail address to RTF.

I’d LOVE to join the Bible study. Sounds like an AWESOME idea! :-) I think you have my email address already, don’t you?

BTW, I think it’s fine to have different beliefs about stuff, (I’m *not* referring to the fundamentals of our faith when I say that) as long as we don’t allow it to divide us. But that’s just what I think…

One author made an observation that I found extremely interesting. She said that Jesus did not command us to CREATE unity, but to PERSERVE unity. We are already united; we’re just to keep the unity. I thought that was AWESOME! :-)
