When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
-Psalm 27:8
If God asked you that question, what would your answer be? It is not an easy thing to just say, “No problem God… sure, I’ll seek you.” What are some basic ways that you can seek God each day?
Speak with Him. Have a quick devo or just spend some quiet time with Him. It doesn’t have to be long, just give Him what you have.
Eliminate distractions. When you’re a teen, homework piles up, sport schedules dictate where you will be, and activities with your friends fill up your free time. Not that any of those things are wrong, it’s just that you have to find room for God too. Don’t let anything stand in between you and God.
Expect and allow change. Seeking after God totally turns you around. Don’t get stuck thinking you can’t go beyond a certain point in your spiritual life. Get involved in your youth group. Just sitting around and listening to the pastor’s messages won’t help you grow in your relationship with Christ; get up and do something! Allow God to change you!
Keep your focus on God’s face. Remember all that He’s done for you. Go to church, get involved, and make sure your personal life has room for Him. So here’s my personal challenge to you: start off the New Year with a decision to totally and radically follow God.
He’s calling you. “Will you seek me?”
What’s your reply?
