We see all types of medical procedures on TV. On Grey’s Anatomy they open hearts and separate cojoined twins. On ER they perform brain surgery.
Just last week on Extreme Makeover they show a women’s jaw being pried apart and then reset.
No details spared.
But I’ve never seen an abortion on TV, and I wonder why. Pro-choice advocates say that abortion, especially in the earlier months, is a simple medical procedure.
Then why is it not shown, like any other procedure?

(9 weeks and 2 days – a girl or woman is typically 6-8 weeks pregnant when they discover their pregnancy)
(more developed, but still eligible for abortion)
Real Question: Does seeing what is inside the womb make a difference in your views about abortion? Why or why not?
We’d love to hear what you think.

Debbie says:
Abortion is wrong. It kills, but not just the child, but a piece of the mother too. I’ve heard stories of girls who’ve had abortions. And the emotional baggage that they have to deal with is truly overwhelming. Guilt, shame, anger, betrayal…and much, much more.
Sometimes, teenage girls are scared and make stupid desicions. But what they need is grace, love, and healing and as the body of Christ, we need to allow God to work through us to bring those things to these girls. We don’t need to condemn. Or judge. That only adds to their burdens. We’re called to love.
