It is as if Shakespeare should want to communicate with Hamlet. He can’t do it, because Shakespeare and Hamlet live in different worlds, different universes. Shakespeare is a real person, Hamlet exists only in the world of the play. So how could genuine communication ever be possible?
Well what if Shakespeare wrote himself into the script of the play, created a new character, called William Shakespeare, who would speak and act in the same way that the real-life Shakespeare spoke and acted. Then Hamlet could know Shakespeare: we could even say that Hamlet could have a personal relationship with his creator. (more…)

I’m 19 years old and lately I’ve been praying that God would send me my soul mate and that I would know who that special person was when the time is right. I’ve always wanted to be a wife and a mother more than anything else in world. I’ve always felt that that was meant to be. I haven’t really dated much. I’ve had a few close guy friends, but not boyfriends.

If only. . . I was more holy
If only. . . I could be like him, you know, because he’s so close to God
If only. . . I served more
If only. . . I could change the world
If only. . . I read my Bible more, went to church more often, never ever made mistakes

Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall…
By Lydia Rule, RTF Staff Writer
The all-mighty mirror. The average person probably spends a few hours a
day staring at their own reflection, wishing their skin was darker, lighter, or smoother. They wonder what they would look like if their nose wasn’t as lumpy, or if their cheeks weren’t peppered with freckles. They fret about the zit that happens to reside in the middle of their forehead and refuses to give up its position. They wish their eyebrows were shaped differently.

Everything thing seems to be going wrong. I thought that as I got older life would be cooler. My mom recently lost her job and then got a new one. Instead of working for like four hours, she works for ten. I know that every parent probably works like this but I’m so used to her having a part-time job. Now it feels like I have to be responsible for the safety of my little sisters and the house. (more…)
