Hi, I read your article. I self injure myself probably every month or two, but lately I have been doing it more and more. I am a Christian, and I go to church.
One of my best friends saw my arm this week and freaked out, now she isn’t talking to me. She is a member of my church. She is the one I usually go to for help. My family is never around, and I am afraid what they may do. I cut/scratch myself to calm myself in times of panic. I don’t know what to do. I’ve prayed. but I am losing hope in myself, but that makes me do the habit more.
I would go to someone of my church, but I try so hard to be accepted there, I don’t know what others would think of me. I don’t know what to do. -Lindsay
I love my boyfriend, but he hits me and says cruel things when he is angry. Last night we were walking in a dark parking lot and he pushed me and called me a (derogatory term) just because I didn’t agree with something he said. He has his good moments and that’s when I realize how much I love him. I’m torn. Carey W., Age 16

A Letter From God
by Elizabeth Wright, Guest RTF Writer
When I got my first job, I thought I was just going to work at a daycare. I was
wrong: I was entering a mission field. I became overwhelmed with the need I saw all around me. “I can help them,” I thought. “I can make it better.”
Determined to make a difference, I plunged in headfirst. I prayed for them, passed out invitations to church, and offered my help whenever I could. Sheer enthusiasm carried me through the first couple months. (more…)

There’s something different about professional snowboarder Kelly Clark. It’s not just her flips and tricks. Or her speed. Or even her success in the X Games or Winter Olympics (she won gold in 2002 and finished fourth in 2006).
Instead, it’s her dynamic and positive personality. “I love Jesus,” she says. “And I guess everyone can tell.”

Today teen culture expert and author, Shannon (Kubiak) Primicerio shares advice about writing and following your heart.
Suzie: Do you meet very many teens who want to write? What is your advice to to them.
Shannon: I meet (or hear from via email) many teens who want to write. And with the recent advent of blogs and MySpace, many of them do write.
I encourage all aspiring writers to write a little bit every day, and to read books on writing. I also encourage them to take notes while they read and jot down things they like or dislike about other authors. (more…)

This is Part I of an interview with Shannon (Kubiak) Primicerio, a leading voice in teen culture and a best-selling author.
Suzie and Shannon get real as they talk about missions, writing, purpose, and more. . .
Suzie: Shannon, welcome to Real Teen Faith. When I went to your website, I noticed right away that we had some things in common: a heart for missions and mentoring writers!
Let’s start with missions. You recently went on a trip to Peru. Tell us about that.
Shannon: Last summer I was invited to join Brio magazine on their annual missions trip. We took something like 500 teens with us to Peru for two weeks. We spent our days working in the poorest communities of Lima washing clothes, washing children?s hair and visiting schools where we handed out school supplies.
