No One Said Trusting Was Easy. . .
But It’s Worth It
By RTF Staff Writer, Ashley Phillips
Trust is something that comes easy to some and is so much harder for others. Mostly trust issues (whether it’s hard or easy for you to trust) is based on your past experiences. For example, it’s been really hard for me to trust God as a Father, because my earthly father and I don’t have a good relationship. there is no trust between my earthly father and me, which makes me think that sometimes God will act the same way. But, I have to try to trust that God will be different and that He is worthy of my trust.
I love the verse Romans 10:11 (From the message bible) it reads:
Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.” It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.”
I love this verse because it reassures me that no matter who I’ve trusted in the past that has hurt me, or who I’ve trusted that has helped me; this verse says that when you trust God you will never regret it. No matter how big or how small the issue is, you’ll never be sorry that you trusted God with it, and he’ll never leave you out in the rain.
So, the question is will you trust God with the big and the small? The things that you think are foolish, Ask him for! The things that mean the most to you, Ask him. Those things mean just as much as the things you think are foolish! And the greatest thing is that when you ask Him, and trust him to do it, He will!
The hard part is when God tells you to wait, or doesn’t give you exactly what you asked for because he has something different (And better) for you. A great example of this is Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:7-9. Three times Paul asks God to take away a thorn in his flesh, but God did not. However, Paul still trusted that God knew what was best for him, and trusted God through his descion to leave the thorn there.
Basically, trust God, and ask him for the desires of your heart. You’ll be amazed at the things that happen!!!!
