God’s Will
Can You Really Find It?
by Lydia Rule, RTF Staff Writer
For those of you trying to decide on a college or a future career, I’m sure you’ve
asked yourself, “How can I know what God’s will is?†God’s word doesn’t give us the answer point blank. Imagine if it did though:
asked yourself, “How can I know what God’s will is?†God’s word doesn’t give us the answer point blank. Imagine if it did though:
“Thou shalt go to M.I.T. and study to be a scientist. Thou shalt not look at any other college. Understandest what thou hast just read? Go ye forth, and filleth out thy application immediately!â€
Personally, I’m glad the Bible doesn’t do that. You wouldn’t have much choice if
it did. But before you despair, there’s still hope! God’s word has verses that can help guide you in life. Each verse contains a clue or step for you to follow up on. Check them out!

Psalms 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Seek for God. If you want to discover your purpose in life, you have to surrender to seek God’s will.
2) Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his
commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Make sure that whatever career path you take lines up with the “whole duty of manâ€.
3) Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Basically, put God first and you’ll find the answers to your questions. Get involved with church, talk to your pastor, hang around Christian friends, and make sure you have your devo’s on a regular basis.
4) 1Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Only three little words, but look at what it says! It’s talking about being in a continual attitude of prayer. You can do that by praying about the decisions you make, talking to God through out the day, and realizing that He’s with you wherever you go.
Prayer: God, let me see myself as You do. Take control of my future. I ask for Your guidance in all areas of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Lydia, I think every person is asking this question: What do you want, God? What am I supposed to do with my life. I love the scriptures, and the heart behind this devo. Awesome!
