New Beginnings
by Ashley Phillips, RTF Staff Writer
When I think of new beginnings, I think of new chances. And when I think about new chances I think about King David and Bathsheba.
Basically, King David and God were on the same team, God told David how to do things and David did them. But, then David made a mistake!
You see, one night he was walking on his roof and he saw the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. There was only one problem, she was married. David went against what God would have said, and listen to his flesh. (Want to know the whole story? See 2 Samuel 11).
In the End, David slept with a married woman, killed her husband, married her, and then their child died. Verse 27 says: “But the thing David had done displeased the Lord.â€

Yet, you go on to read that King David went on to do many more great things, because God is a God of second chances!
So, basically, no matter how bad you messed up, God can and will still you use you for something great. You just have to let Him give you a second chance, and you have to choose to make a difference with the chance you are given.
Just a thought.
1 John 1:9: . . .if we admit our sins–make a clean breast of them–he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing.
