“And the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.’” - Luke 1:30-33 (ESV)

Heroism
by Richie Buck

Say you’re walking down the street with someone you care about a lot. As you pass a dark alley that smells like your little brothers closet, a man jumps out at you and tells you that he will kill one of you but let the other one go. Would you stand back and let your friend be killed? Or would you say to him,”Kill me. Let her go.”
During the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of acts of heroism around the world. But what is heroism from a Christian perspective? Especially to a Christian guy since every guy’s greatest desire is to be a hero. The Bible has a lot to say on heroism throughout the Old Testament and the New.

I can almost picture Martha, bustling about the kitchen and fuming the entire time! Her thoughts I’m sure go something like this: Can Jesus not see how hard I’m working while my sister just sits idly? Of all the times, to leave the cooking and cleaning to me, she has to pick now! (more…)

Thoughtfor Thought for the Day: …for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. I Samuel 16:7a
Hey, I’m a Billboard!
by Lydia Rule
I wanted to impress the some teenagers my parents wanted me to meet. So I put on my new Aeropostale shirt, thinking that the mighty name of the shirt’s label alone would do the job. To my s
urprise, the teens just asked me, “What does Aeropostal mean?” I suddenly realized that I was not being cool, but instead I was a two-legged advertisement stand.
I was a billboard. As teenagers, I know we place a lot of importance on wearing only certain brands of clothing like AE, Adidas, Nike, and Abercrombie & Fitch. I will even admit that the ugliest pair of pants can suddenly become a “must-have” item if the coolest initials have been branded on them. While there is nothing wrong with wearing something name brand, we tend to think that because we are traipsing around in only top brands, that we are somehow better than those who do not.

Comfort In The Midst Of Chaos
by Ashley Phillips
Have you ever noticed how the world all around you seems to be telling you that the only way to find rest, is to blow everyone off just to sleep a couple of hours? Or to find hope and joy you have to put yourself first? Well, the bible tells us different.
Matthew 11:28 says: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (The Message Bible) (more…)

~Real Question~
Lately, I`ve been feeling lonely, most of my friends have boyfriends. It seems they can have any guy by the drop of a hat. There is this guy I really like. But I`m not the best girl that can talk to guys I like. The worst thing is all my friends come to me for advice about guys. BUT I don`t know anything about guys and relationships, I`ve never had a boyfriend before. I`m kind of scared….What should I do? (more…)

Just a little more than two weeks and Christmas will be here.
Do I dare say the word? Christmas.
Some say that this word is offensive. And yet Christ talked about peace, love, life, abundant living, blessings, joy, destiny–all the things that most people that I meet truly are seeking. (more…)

THANK YOU
by Charity Christy
I was once asked,
“What would you say to Jesus
If you could say one thing?”
Thoughts came but not with a fuss.
