Real Advice: My Cousin is Mad at Me

I need advice badly.

While I was on vacation my cousin’s birthday came. So I was planning to call him. But the day of his birthday I was really sick. I never even left my hotel room. And now he’s mad at me, and I don’t know what to do. I told him I was sorry but he’s still mad at me. And all I’m thinking about is how can I be so stupid and forget to call him.

Please give me advice ASAP. Thanks

RTF Response

Birthdays are a big day and you really want the people who love you the most to call. But if they don’t, you hope that they still will make a big deal out of your special day.

Why don’t you make a very cool card and find or make a gift that lets your cousin know that you put some thought into it, and surprise him. Tell him that you were sick and missed out on celebrating with him, but that the day is still important.

Even if it’s now been weeks, and even if in the beginning your cousin thinks its too late, the thought that you put into it could really touch him.

Take time. Make it special (that doesn’t have to mean lots of money, but rather lots of thought) and have fun with it.

Hey, we have a great idea. E-mail RTF privately and we’ll send your cousin an autographed copy of Real Teens, Real Stories, Real Life this week as a gift from you!

Let us know how it turns out.
